Auf ins Vergnügen!!!
So, you’re living in Berlin and you like to cook? Well, so do we. And, as we’re sure you have or will experience, finding ingredients, knowing German equivalents, and a bunch of other factors can make putting (what you consider to be simple) dishes on the table a harried – if not downright discouraging – undertaking. As a way to gather and disseminate knowledge, share ideas, make life – and dinner! – better, and have a bit of fun, some fellow foodies and I will be working on this blog. We anticipate a number of elements, most of which will be geared toward putting better food on all of our own tables. So, look forward to categories such as where to get certain ingredients, recipes, and the like. We also want to make things easier for you, so we anticipate writing about the grocery experience in Germany, markets, special “finds,” and answering your questions about shopping and cooking in Berlin. Furthermore, as we’re all living in a strange land (whether you’re a native or not!), we’d also like to share our learning experiences with the unfamiliar and new.
And since we can’t always eat at home, we also hope to do some restaurant reviews.
Your stewards on this adventure will include some well-known names in the Berlin food-blogging community and some foodies who have thus far hidden or obscured their culinary obsessions. Along the way, we’d also like to pick up more contributors eager to share their own culinary adventures in Berlin and beyond. If you’re interested, drop us a line.
