Whar are we about?
Its easy, we stock ingredients that are tasty, more difficult to find stuff.

Who else stocks a full range of caster sugar, demerara sugar, dark and light muscovado sugar, golden icing sugar next to a whole range of japanese handmade and aged soy sdauces.

The idea is simply good food, not mass manufactured, no msg, no artificial flavours and colourings. Everything ist tasted before we stock it.

debbieann, I'm just amazed. You're surrounded by several of the world's great cuisines where you are -- admittedly ones that don't use cheese or sour cream (me, I wouldn't much miss cottage cheese, although it's available here, unsurprisingly enough, as Huttenkäse) -- so you should just get out there and check them out!

And Rich, this Stadt Klause is where, exactly? Sounds like my kind of place.

Hi Ed
Looking for a reasonable, but idiosyncratic Berlin restaurant? The StadtKlause is open for dinner. It's homemade menu changes whimsically, but Strammer Max and other bar foods always seem to come through and the bread is baked on premises. The decor is an homage to Anhalter BHF, as is the inhouse library. Frank (the owner) does all tasks, so to place your order walk to the rear kitchen and say "hello".
I have a great meal, two large beers for less than 12 euros.
You'll know you're not in Kansas anymore.

Sounds like it. Also elevated heartbeat, sweating, insatiable thirst, dizziness, and those little spots in your vision with black centers and white outlines.

MSG and German restaurants: is a symptom of über-MSG wanting (and feeling you're about) to be sick for no obvious reason, while the food seems very over-salted?

Jeez, debbiann, I've always thought of India as being awash in panir and yoghurt, at the very least. True, they don't have cheese as we know it, but I'd always thought there was milk around.

I'll nominate India as having the fewest dairy products. I am envious of your dairy.
