Long, Dark Down Time and Redesign
As some visitors may have noticed, we’ve been down for a week. We’ve been in the process of switching hosts, and apparently got stuck in the domain system’s Bermuda Triangle. Many apologies to those who have tried to visit in the interim. We’re still working out a few kinks, but everything should be back to normal this week.
You’ll also notice that the look of the site has changed. We’ve redesigned, adding new features and more ways to browse through the content. Our hope is that this site slowly becomes a comprehensive resource for Berlin cooks and foodies, not solely a place to read the latest blog post.
If there are other things you’d like to see here, or you have thoughts on the new look, leave us a comment here or shoot us a message.
You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0 feed. You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

But it’s been worth the wait. It all looks good. Welcome to your new home.

I had wondered what had happened…but to be honest, I prefered the old design. It was less cluttered, less “busy” on the eye. And what does the sign mean? If you’re hungry, go to the Husemannstraße?

And on the market list: “Wochenmarkt Greifswalder- / Thomas-Mann-Str.” is even now still Prenzlauer Berg, and not Pankow. Unless Kollwitzplatz & Co. are Pankow too.

Thanks, BIB!
K-M-S — There’s always a tension between gracefulness and lightness of design, and the banal practicality of putting links on pages so people can find them. I’ve worked at enough Web companies, with enough redesigns, to see that traffic goes up when you put more links on a page, even if it’s dead ugly. So we’ll see — maybe this won’t work, and 3.0 will be light and airy.
Thanks for the tip on Greifswalder, we’ve still got lots of kinks to work out on that list and elsewhere.
