It’s a whole Vietnamese/Asian village, that no-man’s land between Marzahn, and erm, other bits of Marzahn (i.e. Herzberge), with driving schools, hairdressers, cafés, and that massive indoor (wholesale) market. It’s not that surprising though (as you point out) that someone there would object to “Americans” en bloc - even if wrong.

But yeah, I had to look at a lot of bok choi before I found any I wanted to take home and eat.
