Letting the cat out of the bag: try Raja Indian Food. Located at U-Geneisenaustr., on Zossener Str. 15 under a large neon green Imbiss sign.

The business is run by twin brothers and offers run-of-the-mill northern Indian and Thai during the week. However, the weekends are a different story. The mother of the owners cooks a specialty Sri Lankan/Tamil menu featuring Idli (grainy dumplings, Friday), Butter Dosai or Puri (lentil-filled bread and fluffy fried bread respectively, Saturday) and Masala Dosai (potato-filled bread) or Puri on Sunday.

Each bread order comes as a meal with several curries and small portions of (actually) spicy pâté for mixing your own dose of Scharf, as well as a cup of tea. An incredibly inexpensive and flavorful southern Indian meal and excellent service. You'll forget you're in Berlin!

I've spent some time on a similar search -
The yummiest I found was: http://www.restaurant-guru.de/
If prompted, they will serve things quite spicy, and they are also quite amenable to veering of the menu a bit.

I was on the island last week and one evening got takeaway Indian food - small town, vaguely middle of nowhere - and my palate was so unused to hotness that I had to do mouth-fanning and tear-away-wiping. I thought time had toughened me up but, as you point out, it's just because Berlin had enwimpened my heat-resistance.
